This training is geared towards caregivers of all types, parents, grandparents, relatives, natural supports… anyone in a caregiving role, or supporting those in a caregiving role, in trying to understand their children’s behaviors on a deeper level from a trauma sensitive lens. Often caregivers lack support when dealing with intense behaviors and services like respite can be limited, hard to access, or unavailable. This training seeks to increase the level of support and understanding for kids and for their caregivers by offering the opportunity for participants to learn about the trauma response to help kids/youth manage their trauma responses, see things from a trauma sensitive lens and create opportunity for skills building, relationship building and resilience building.
